It's my universe, and welcome to it!
Flights of Fancy...we've all had them. Sometimes it's your first
boyfriend. Sometimes it's the man you marry. Other times it's
the guy bagging your groceries at the local market.
Yeah, we've all had them.
There's no need to believe that these Flights of Fancy will ever
stop happening. Ever...not next week, or next month, or next
year. In fact, I believe we'll still be having these Flights of
Fancy many thousands of years from now.
And that's where the stories in my Flights of Fancy series fit
in.
Some five thousand years from now, the crew of HMSS Daedalus are
sent out on a mission of discovery and first contact. Along the
way, the crew meets many strange and interesting people with
societies that range from eerily similar to wildly different
from that of the Empire of Humanity. Just like any other time
people are brought together, sometimes tempers and passions
flair.
Let me tell you about some of the stories in the Flights of
Fancy series...
Burning Love [Flights of Fancy 1]

Star Hawking, a young diplomat, isn't totally certain she can
handle the assignment she's drawn as her first mission. There is
something amiss on the planet inhabited by strange people who
can summon fire just by thinking. To top it off, she's been so
busy with her professional life that she doesn't even have
anyone special she can turn to for support.
Major Jake "Spense" Spenser has the task of making sure that the
diplomatic and scientific teams on the planet stay safe. But
Spense has a few big problems...first of all, he knows that the
aliens are lying, but he can't prove it. Second, the ability of
the aliens to project heat energy could very well make his
weapons totally useless. And last of all, at some point in the
recent past, he noticed that Star is even hotter than the planet
itself.
Krell is caught in a three-way battle between his loyalties to
his people, his desire to be truthful with the aliens who have
come to his world, and the undeniable attraction he feels for
the human diplomat leading the team. But his burning desire for
the woman soon forces him to question the authority of the
Council of Elders.
Knights of Desire [Flights of Fancy 2]

Sir Landis and Sir Clemmons are lovers and knights and they are
in the midst of a war with the dragons. The lizards have killed
many men and women, including Landis' wife, and the time has
come to stop them, even if it means genocide. And then, right in
the middle of the war, a strange flying machine drops to the
ground carrying a strange woman. She's clearly a warrior and
gives commands like any man, but there is no mistaking Shane for
a man.
Shane has been a Marine for sixty years, but this is the first
time she's seen dragons...especially ones that can talk. And
it's the first time she's seen real knights...especially a pair
as delicious as Landis and Clemmons. She soon finds that the men
have more than enough love for two.
As Darkness Falls [Flights of Fancy 3]

I love science fiction. While I actually prefer the "hard" SciFi
works, I like the "soft" version and fantasy as well. In many
cases, the line between the three gets blurred in Flights of
Fancy. But that's all right...it makes things more fun!
