Finding the
right Dom is what it’s all about by Eva Lefoy
Finding the Dom that understands you, that loves you, that cares for you.
One able to meet your needs but respect your limits. One comfortable in and
proficient in his or her role. But more than that, it has to be a person that
clicks with you. That you’re attracted to and you get along with outside of the
bedroom. Too many times us humans fall into bed and then try to just as easily
fall into a relationship, only to find out that while the sex works between us,
the relationship never will.
In Dom of Destruction, Gar and Brian fall into a scene in Kink Club
Blues. Brian is sub-curious, impulsive and eager. He gets a taste of what he
thinks he wants and then … he only desires more. He goes back to Gar only to
find he must negotiate his way to the top of the sub pile, an obstacle he
hadn’t even considered. Along the way, he learns more about his intended Dom,
Gar, and figures out that in the end, Doms and subs are still just people. They
often come with unresolved issues from the past.
Later in the story, Brian and Gar have sex at Brian’s condo and start
navigating the murky waters of a fledgling relationship. As always, even if the
sex is good, the relationship has to stand on its own. At the end of the story,
we see Brian suffer through a bit of depression. When Gar responds the way he
does, we as readers know these two men are firmly on the right track.
Dom of
Destruction, book III in the Love Hurts series:
When new and impulsive
sub, Brian is injured in a bad scene, the incident opens old wounds for his
sometimes-Dom, Gar. While doling out revenge, Gar must come to terms with his
fear of relationships and learn the shocking truth about his former lover,
Angel.
Meanwhile, Paul’s
uncontrolled jealousy of Brian comes to light and Geoffrey threatens to cancel
their engagement if he won’t get his anger under control. In different ways the
aftermath of the sadistic Dom’s destructive force puts these four men on the
track to future happiness, but some will suffer more scars than others.
Warning: The MC in this story is baited into a scene of BDSM
play and is abused.
EXCERPT – Gar and Brian negotiate:
Gar reached out to steady him, and got glared at for his efforts.
“Look, Brian. I don’t want to argue. I thought we were having a great time…”
“We were. But I remembered why I left the club in the first place.
Gar, I don’t want to be Mr. Thursday night to you. If that’s all I am, then go,
and I’ll find myself another Dom.”
That did it. Gar crowded into Brian’s space and backed him against
the desk. “Don’t you even think about being with anybody else. I’m the one
who’s gonna take care of you the way you need. I don’t want you having anything
to do with these other bastards. I mean it. I won’t stand to see you hurt
again.”
Brian, to his credit, stood his ground and didn’t back down. Not even
an inch. If Brian hadn’t spent most of his life as a top, he probably would
have acted differently. Gar hated to admit it, but he liked Brian’s spunk. When
it wasn’t coming close to literally causing his death.
“Then give us—this—whatever this is between us a chance.”
“I am.”
“I mean exclusively.”
He swallowed the lump stuck in his throat. Damned if he’d tell Brian
he hadn’t been able to see a single one of his subs all of last week. He wasn’t
ready for that kind of honesty. “Brian…”
“I don’t share well, Gar. Ask Geoffrey if you don’t believe me. If
you aren’t willing to have me as your only sub then this is over, now.”
“That’s not fair.” He fisted his hands, the thought of ringing sense
into Brian becoming more alluring by the second.
“Too bad.” Brian shoved at Gar’s chest and Gar moved back. Not
because he wanted to go, or Brian really had the strength to make him, but
because he wouldn’t allow Brian to hurt himself, even accidentally. “According
to Geoffrey, the subs make the rules. If you really are a Dom and want to
fulfill my needs, then you’ll want to fulfill this one, too.”
He sucked in a long breath. The hell. Is he questioning my Domhood? You’ve got to be
kidding. He’s still a newbie sub in diapers. “If I wasn’t such a well-established Dom I wouldn’t have so many
subs under me.”
“If you weren’t so afraid of having a relationship, you wouldn’t need
all those subs to dilute your attention.”
The words stabbed straight though Gar’s heart and left a gaping hole
as an exit wound. What
the hell does he know about my needs? It’s not like I’m afraid, damn it. He started for the door and stopped dead
in his tracks as an image of Angel popped into his mind. The picture burned his
soul, calling him a liar. You
beat a man half to death for hurting him. Get back there, you chicken-shit
bastard. He turned
around and fought the urge to get down on his knees and beg. “Please, Brian.
Promise me you won’t seek another Dom.”
Brian took a couple of relaxed steps forward until he stood toe to
toe with him. “I promise I won’t seek another Dom ’til next week.”
He opened his mouth to speak but Brian hushed him by pressing a
finger over his lips.
“I will come to the club on Thursday and if you haven’t been with any
other sub, then we’re fine. If you have…then it’s time for me to find someone
else. That’s my deal.”
